I'm sure you have all seen a Google double listing, or indented listing as they are sometimes called. Have you ever wondered what it takes to get a Google double listing? Do you wonder if there is really any benefit to having a Google double listing?
To address the last question -- yes, there is a big advantage to having a Google double listing. It gets two or three times as many clicks as a normal listing at the top of the results page. People are drawn to the double listing because it looks "more important" and the eye tends to pause there longer and increase the chances of clicking the link.
So, what are these double listings and what kind of Google juice does it take to get them? When Google finds a site with search results for two pages on the same search result page it groups them together as a double listing. To get a Google double listing you need to have two pages optimized for the same keyword phrase. It also helps to have them crosslinked with the same keyword anchor text. The two pages should have somewhat different keyword phrase densities. You also want to get some external links to the pages. For a more complete explanation of this technique you should watch the double listing video on Stompernet.
Once you have mastered the Google double listing you will find your site getting a lot more traffic from your Google listings.
